Preparing for the Lambeth Conference
Travel and attendance checklist

The information below provides a short checklist of things to remember before you travel / make your way to Canterbury.

The conference delegate guide also shares a lot of information for the event.  You can view that here.

TRAVEL
The majority of bursary flights have now been booked.  Please confirm your itinerary as soon as possible with Diversity Travel so that they can book your flight and issue your tickets.

Some bishops and spouses are still waiting for their visas to be issued.  If you have not received your visa within 2 working days of your flight, you MUST contact Diversity Travel to discuss options.  Please email Lambeth2022@diversitytravel.com and copy Hospitality@lll.re.

DELEGATES WHO HAVE BOOKED THEIR OWN FLIGHTS
To be sure of having a seat on the coach transfer, please log in and add your flight details to your registration or email them to hospitality@lll.re. (Please send arrival date, arrival airport and terminal, flight number, flight arrival time – and also your return flight details).

AIRPORT ARRIVALS AND TRANSFERS
The main arrival day is Tuesday 26 July. Transport from London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports to the University of Kent, Canterbury, has been arranged.

(Transport will be available for a smaller number of delegates arriving on Monday 25 and Wednesday 27 July).

At the airport, as you come through ‘Arrivals’ you should see one of our Welcome Team in blue high-vis clothing and with a Lambeth Conference sign. Please approach them, and they will show you where you can meet your shuttle/coach. Bishops are encouraged to wear clerical shirts to help our welcome team to identify you.

Once you are in the airport, please turn on your mobile phone and connect to the airport Wi-Fi so that we can contact you if necessary.

Arrival arrangements

On Tuesday 26 July at London Heathrow: For those arriving at London Heathrow only, we will gather you at the Sofitel Hotel at Terminal 5 to pick up the coaches to Canterbury. There will be shuttle buses from the other Terminals to take you to T5.

On 25 and 27 July at London Heathrow OR London Gatwick, delegates will be picked up from their arrival Terminal.

LOST LUGGAGE
If your luggage does not come off your flight, report this to Lost Luggage at the airport and take a photo of the form or a note of the claim number.  Please then advise a member of our Welcome Team.

TRAIN TRAVEL
If you are travelling independently from London, we recommend the train from St Pancras to Canterbury West. Please email to let us know if you have booked the train. If there is demand, we plan to have a minibus collecting delegates hourly at 15 minutes past the hour from 10:15 to 18:15 on Tuesday 26 July.

ARRIVALS BY CAR
Arrivals by car should arrive at Chipperfield car park to register in the Sibson building. A parking pass will be provided during registration, with instructions for accessing the delegate parking area.

ARRIVING AT THE UNIVERSITY

Registration
Please go to the Sibson Building on site, where you will be able to register for the Conference.  You will then be directed to your accommodation with transport for those who would like it.  Campus tours to help you find your way around the various Conference venues will also be on offer starting from Sibson.

On Tuesday 26 July, the Lambeth Conference will be delivering a welcome and registration programme that enables delegates to get settled; start to meet with others and have time and space for rest, relaxation and prayer leading into the pre-conference retreat days.
